Control and audio cables by BITNER – LiYY, LiYCY, LiHH, LiHCH, and BiTsound in industrial practice

Control and audio cables:

The dynamic development of industrial automation systems, technological lines, and electroacoustic installations constantly sets new and increasingly higher demands on cabling, which is not merely a connection between two points of the system. A growing number of power electronic devices, widespread use of inverters, and stringent fire protection requirements mean that choosing the right cable cannot be random. The stability of data transmission, user safety, and the durability of the entire installation mainly depend on the applied cabling. In the offer of the Polish manufacturer BITNER we find a wide range of control cables with PVC insulation (LiYY and LiYCY series), as well as their halogen-free equivalents (LiHH and LiHCH series), and also specialized audio cables from the BiTsound series. All these products are available directly from the TME warehouse, which is significant for projects requiring guaranteed uninterrupted supply.

LiYY and LiYCY – universal PVC control cables for indoor installations

The LiYY and LiYCY series are multi-core cables used in control and signaling systems in industrial automation, electronics, measurement technology, and also for data transmission using analog and digital signals.

Both series have class 5 multi-stranded copper conductors, providing appropriate flexibility and resistance to repeated bending during assembly or operation in control cabinets or when routed in cable trays. The outer sheath is made of self-extinguishing and flame-retardant PVC in gray color. Conductors are color-coded according to DIN 47100 with a protective conductor in yellow-green. Cross-sections from 0.55mm² to 2.5mm² are available, with the number of cores from 2 to 20.

The rated voltage is 300/300V, and the operating temperature range for fixed installations is from -40°C to 80°C, while for movable installations from -5°C to 80°C. The minimum bending radius for fixed installation is approximately 4 times the external diameter of the cable, while for movable applications it is about 7.5 times.

Shielded 4-core cable with flexibility class 5

The only difference between the LiYY and LiYCY series is the presence of shielding in the form of a braid of tinned copper wires with a coverage density of about 85% for the LiYCY version. The use of shielding effectively reduces EMI and RFI interference generated by inverters, motors, or converters, thereby improving the electromagnetic compatibility of the entire system. In practice, this allows for more stable transmission of digital and analog signals, reduced risk of measurement errors, and increased system resistance to disturbing pulses.

Due to the PVC sheath, these cable series are intended for dry and damp rooms without direct exposure to UV radiation and should not be laid directly in the ground without additional protection such as a conduit.

LiHH and LiHCH – halogen-free safety in facilities with elevated fire protection requirements

The LiHH and LiHCH series are multi-core cables used in control and signaling circuits, whose core insulation and outer sheath are made of self-extinguishing and flame-retardant halogen-free polymer in gray color. In case of fire, these cables emit a limited amount of smoke and do not release corrosive halogen gases, reducing the risk of equipment damage and improving evacuation conditions. Compliance with relevant standards regarding gas emission and smoke density translates into higher safety, allowing their use in public buildings, infrastructure facilities, data centers, and industrial installations with elevated safety requirements. These series are intended for indoor use in fixed installations as well as for movable and portable devices.

Conductors are color-coded distinctly, without color repetition

Structurally, the cable consists of class 5 multi-stranded copper conductors. The rated voltage is 300/300V, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to 80°C for fixed installations and -5°C to 80°C for movable installations. The minimum bending radius is similar to PVC cables, although halogen-free material may show greater stiffness at low temperatures. Similarly to the LiYY and LiYCY series, the difference between LiHH and LiHCH is only the use of shielding in the form of a braid of tinned copper wires with a coverage density of about 85% for the LiHCH version.

BiTsound – professional audio cables

In the BITNER brand offer, we also find solutions dedicated to stage, studio, installation, and audiophile applications such as cables from the BiTsound series. This series includes microphone cables, speaker cables, DMX, and AES/EBU digital transmission cables. High-quality copper, solid shielding (for DMX and data transmission cables), and flexible jackets guarantee clear sound, durability, and ease of installation even under demanding working conditions.

Microphone cables use copper conductors twisted in pairs made of oxygen-free copper (OFC) with controlled unit capacitance. A copper wire shield with a coverage density of at least 90% limits susceptibility to external disturbances, resulting in a clean signal and a high signal-to-noise ratio.

BiTsound® cables have a characteristic impedance of 110Ω

Speaker cables are designed with low resistance and a wide range of cross-sections (from 0.21mm² to 4mm²), enabling selection of appropriate cabling according to system power and installation length. Outer jackets made of PVC and halogen-free LSZH materials allow broad use also in mobile installations. In the case of DMX cables, the key parameter is the controlled characteristic impedance of 110Ω, ensuring stable data transmission for lighting control systems and digital signal paths even in environments with high interference. The operating temperature of BiTsound® cables ranges from -20°C to 70°C, and they can be used both in fixed installations and mobile applications.

Bitner offer – cables meeting the highest requirements

The LiYY and LiYCY series offer proven solutions for classic and demanding industrial automation installations, while LiHH and LiHCH meet the growing requirements in fire safety systems and limited emission of toxic gases during fire. Meanwhile, the BiTsound series is an excellent solution providing high data transmission parameters in professional audio applications from home (audiophile) installations to recording studios or concert stages.

The common denominator of all the above cable series from the Polish brand BITNER portfolio is compliance with applicable standards, controlled quality at every stage of production, and availability directly from the TME warehouse, enabling project execution with a wide range of options considering technical parameters and delivery timeliness.
