Pickering Electronics will present latest range of High Coil Resistance Reed Relays at Semicon Taiwan 2021

Semicon Taiwan 2021 will be held in TaiNEX1 Taipei between the 28th to 30th December 2021, but what products should you be looking out for? On booth K2983 Pickering Electronics will be showcasing their newly released Series 100HV and Series 100HC reed relays.

The Series 100HV launched in September this year and since then has sparked a great deal of interest. These small Single-in-Line (SIP/SIL) reed relays are rated up to 3kV stand-off voltage and with more than double the coil resistance of previous devices (up to an impressive 6800 Ohms).

The varied relay range are ideal for many applications including mixed signal semiconductor testers, high-end cable testers, backplane testers, medical electronics, electric vehicles, solar energy, big physics, in-circuit test equipment and high voltage instrumentation.

Also on show will be the newly available Series 100HC high power SIL/SIP reed relays. The 40W relays were launched at the end of October 2021 and may be used at 3A continuous carry current and even higher levels in pulsed current applications.

The Series 100HC are suitable for low level or ‘dry’ switching applications, and due to the high coil resistance figures of up to 6000 Ohms they are ideal for low power consumption.

This higher coil resistance results in reduced heating, giving a thermal EMF performance less than 10μV.

Due to the high-power rating of up to 40 W (at 1 A switching) in many cases these relays may be used as an alternative to mercury wetted reed relays, helping users become RoHS compliant.
